The Douro around the World – Magellan World had as objective the promotion of different internationalization actions for the economy and the Douro identity (ways of life, memory archive, Human Heritages and immaterial patrimony) based in at least 100 companies from the wine, tourism, culture and endogenous products sectors and broad based regional institutions, and supported by an innovative technological component. The Douro around the World – Magellan World harnessed the logic of the Magellan Cities World Network and the spirit of Portugal associated to the discoveries epic, having served to improve logistic, organization and articulation aspects in the contexts where the promotional actions will take place, working as simplifying agents, which improves the final performance and the business objectives at stake. The project promoter was AETUR, which counts with up to 17 years of existence and a vast experience in projects centralized in the Douro region.
